My story
I graduated University with a 1st class honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics. I initially intended to pursue a career in research but after having completed an internship I realised it wasn't for me. I recognised that I really enjoyed helping other students and passing on my love for Physics. I felt strongly that Science and Maths are truly beautiful subjects but had witnessed first hand how it can be poorly taught which can ultimately deter students from pursuing Science or Math related higher education and careers; which is a crying shame! I therefore decided to complete a PGCE. I wanted to pass on my enthusiasm and love for Science and Maths onto the next generation and entered into the teaching profession.
I then acquired Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and taught at a high-achieving grammar school in Kent for a number of years. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed classroom teaching, I decided to leave in order to tutor students full-time. The demands of the teaching profession are huge and often unrecognised and the part of the job that I loved (teaching and working with young people) began to feel like a very small component.
As a full-time private tutor, a far greater proportion of my time is spent doing what I love and what I am passionate about. I can see tremendous progress when working one-to-one or in small groups and I am frequently told how much happier, more confident and able my students become in what was once one of their worst subjects. It is immensely satisfying!
Unlike a lot of tutors out there, tutoring is not something I do whilst aspiring to pursue another career entirely. These tutors are often inexperienced, unenthusiastic and unreliable. Tutoring is my career of choice and it is with great pride that I offer the highest quality tuition and professional service. I thoroughly enjoy my work, passing on my passion and enthusiasm and helping young people grow in confidence, ability and importantly, achieving their full potential.
My rates are very competitive; especially when compared with other professionals from other fields that require similar levels of qualifications and experience.
